DUO GLISS is founded by two professional harpists. Hee Jin Yoon and Ko Ni Choi. They both have performed with numerous groups including the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Duo Gliss is based in Los Angeles and focuses on expanding harp music and educating young musicians. Currently they are working closely with many genres to record, publish and transcribe new pieces for the harp. Through special recognition of their talent at the 2016 Beverly Hills National Audition Duo Gliss have many upcoming engagements including Laguna Beach Live Music Series.
Harpist, HEE JIN YOON is a member of the Los Angeles Harp Ensemble and performed at Logan, Utah for American Harp Society Summer Institute 2015. Yoon is principle harpist of Lancaster Festival Orchestra and has played in the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra, and Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. Recently, she has played with the dream orchestra of LA and the symphonic winds of Cal State Fullerton. She has been featured as a soloist with numerous orchestras in Korea and USA. She was the winner of concerto competition of University of Cincinnati and received honorable mention in Salvi awards. She earned a Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of music as a student of professor Gillian Benet Stella. She also received a Performer Diploma from the Indiana University with the distinguished professor Susann McDonald. Currently, she is a doctoral candidate at the University of Cincinnati in harp performance. Yoon maintains her teaching studio since 2007 and was a harp instructor at God’s Bible College in Cincinnati from 2009-2012. She moved to Los Angeles in 2012 and continues her career to share music with colleagues, audiences, students and composers. Recently, she is featured on the CD “Arts and Letters: Original Tunes for Celtic Harp by Patricia Rushton.”
Harpist, KO NI CHO, praised by the Philadelphia Inquirer as an artist of “naturalistic, theatrical sense of flourish,” has concertized extensively through North America, Europe, Japan and Korea. She was a prizewinner at Concours Internationaux de la Ville de Paris, Nippon International Harp Competition, and Korean Chamber Orchestra Competition.
Choi has been featured as a soloist with numerous orchestras including Banff Festival Orchestra, Hungarian Chamber Philharmonic, Wieniawaski Philharmonic and Toronto Senior Strings. Choi has studied at the Curtis Institute of Music and The Glenn Gould School at The Royal Conservatory of Music. While at these institutions, she had the privilege of studying under renowned artists including Judy Loman, a former principal of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Elizabeth Hainen, a principle of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Currently, Choi resides in Los Angeles, California, USA with her husband and a dog. She continues with her passion for music as a soloist, a chamber musician, an orchestral performer and a teacher.
