Laguna Beach Live Presents Jazz Diva Karen Gallinger on September 16
“A voice of extraordinary range and quality” according to the LA Weekly and to the OC Register, she has “A voice that is nothing short of astonishing.” This is jazz vocalist Karen Gallinger who is being presented by Laguna Beach Live! in Jazz Wednesdays on September 16.
Long regarded as one of Southern California’s finest jazz singers, Karen Gallinger is a performer who blends artistic passion and mastery of her craft into a dynamic and unique package. A gifted composer and lyricist, her lyrics to a number of Bill Evans songs have been recorded by Tierney Sutton and Roseanna Vitro, among others. Ms. Gallinger currently headlines regularly in and around the Southern California area and has appeared at concerts, festivals and nightclubs in the USA, Europe and Asia.
Besides her musical performance schedule she is a writer and educator. She is currently on staff at the prestigious O.C. High School of the Arts teaching vocal jazz and theatre, and she is demand for clinics and master classes. She recently published her first book, The Zen of Singing, and is working on a new book about performance and creativity.
Jazz Wednesdays are in the beautiful outdoor Rose Garden of the Hotel Laguna, 425 So. Coast Hwy., Laguna Beach, 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
