JAZZ WEDNESDAYS: Club Django, considered Southern California’s foremost proponent of the music of Django Reinhardt, consists of Joe Jewell, Don King, Roger Shew and Daniel Blank who also incorporate their other styles such as blues, jump, modern jazz and classical music.

The concert is 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the beautiful outdoor Rose Garden of the Hotel Laguna, 425 So. Coast Hwy., Laguna Beach. Cover charge is $10 and an outstanding selection of drinks and food is available for purchase. AUGUST 18 The Latin Jazz Syndicate features Bijon Watson on Trumpet and the hot sounds of Latin Jazz with some of the hottest musicians in the music scene today. Bijon Watson, a sought-after clinician, has performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the “Hour of Power” Orchestra and in many musical theatre productions in Los Angeles and throughout California. Joining Bijon are Carlos Ordiano on keyboards, Rene Camacho on bass, Ruben Ordiano on drums, percussion and Angel Rodriguez; percussion.

The WOW! Factor is a modern jazz group made up of some of the finest and diverse musicians in Southern California. Led by drummer, Bill Wysaske and trumpet player, Bijon Watson; “The WOW Factor” performs an eclectic array of original compositions as well as fresh arrangements of jazz standards. Plus Llew Matthews on keyboards, Lyman Medeiros on bass, and Yarone Levy on guitar.

Latin Jazz in the Rose Garden 2010

Laguna Beach. Laguna Beach Live! is pleased to announce the lineup for their popular Jazz Wednesdays, a cabaret style concert with some of the great jazz musicians of today.

The live music begins June 9 in the beautiful outdoor Rose Garden of Hotel Laguna, 425 So. Coast hwy, Laguna Beach and will be held every two weeks through September 15. The concert is 6:00 to 8:00 pm for a $10 cover charge and a special menu of food and beverages is available. Doors open at 5:15 and reservations are accepted for groups of 8 or more by calling 949.715.9713 or emailing info@lagunabeachlive.org.

The talented Kristin Korb on upright bass and vocals kicks off the series on June 9 with her Trio, followed by Bijon Watson’s WOW Factor! on June 23, Club Django Quintet on July 7, Luther Hughes and the Cannonball/Coltrane Project on July 21, Joey Sellers and Eric Dries Quartet on August 4, the Latin Jazz Syndicate on August 18, vocalist Yve Evans Quintet on September 1, and finishing the 2010 series is vocalist Karen Gallinger Quartet on September 15.
