
Sean Lyons
Sean has developed a varied career as a musician performing and recording in many styles ranging from the classical symphonic repertoire to jazz to latin to hip-hop. As an orchestral musician, Sean has performed with the Baltimore Symphony, New World Symphony, Mid-Atlantic Symphony, Harrisburg Symphony, Annapolis Symphony, Juneau Symphony, Debut Orchestra, among many others, in halls such as Carnegie Hall, Severance Hall, and Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. He is also a tenured member of the Maryland Symphony viola section. Artists he has worked with in orchestral settings include Michael Stern, Andrew Litton, Gerard Schwarz, Jaap van Zweden, JoAnn Falletta, Bobby McFerrin, Joshua Roman, Time for Three, Joseph Allessi, Glen Dicterow, Rachel Barton Pine, and James Thatcher.
He has also performed and recorded with artists such as Kimbra, arranger Van Dyke Parks, singer-songwriter/producer Taylor Graves, Tyler The Creator on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jenny and Tyler, and Erin Willet from The Voice. As a session musician Sean has recorded in world class studios such as Firehouse Studios, Warner Brothers Eastwood Scoring Stage, Omega Studios, Capitol Records Studio A, Sony Scoring Stage, The Bridge, and East West Studios among others.
Sean studied at The Cleveland Institute of Music with Stanley Konopka, Assistant Principal Violist of the Cleveland Orchestra. During his time there he received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in iola performance.
