About the Event
Jazz Wednesdays is Laguna Live!’s intimate concert series showcasing world-class musicians and an eclectic mix of jazz performances in the excellent performance setting of Ivan’z House at Mozambique.
Concerts take place from February 10 through April 24, 2027, from 6:00–8:00 pm. Doors open at 5:00 pm for drinks and full restaurant service.
Tickets are $40 each plus $2.50 service fee or buy the full season and don’t pay the fees.
Artists and programs are subject to change.
February 10: Maiya Sykes
The incomparable Maiya Sykes and her band open the 2027 Jazz Wednesdays season with stunning vocals, irresistible charisma and a vibrant mix of jazz, soul and blues. Having studied with Nina Simone and performed with some of the biggest names in music, Maiya brings her extraordinary talent to stages around the world.
February 24: Rickey Woodard
Legendary saxophonist Rickey Woodard and his quartet bring a wealth of jazz experience to the stage, shaped by Rickey’s many years with the Ray Charles Band and appearances with greats including Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Diana Krall. A longtime member of the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, Rickey is known for his warm sound, soulful swing and mastery of the jazz tradition.
March 10: Crystal Lewis
Magnetic vocalist, Crystal Lewis, takes the stage with her band, drawing on a career spanning more than three decades. The four-time Dove Award winner and three-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter brings her distinctive style to Jazz Wednesdays for the first time.
March 24: Bill Cunliffe
Grammy Award-winning pianist, composer and arranger Bill Cunliffe leads seven-piece The Blues and the Abstract Truth Take Two, delivering a fresh and scintillating take on one of jazz’s most revered recordings. His remarkable career includes performances with jazz greats Freddie Hubbard, Benny Golson and Natalie Cole, to name just a few.
April 14:Téka & NewBossa
Brazilian Jazz with Téka & NewBossa brings the irresistible rhythms of bossa nova, samba and Brazilian jazz to the stage. A native of São Paulo, singer and guitarist Téka leads her band in a distinctive blend of Brazilian musical traditions and American jazz that she calls NewBossa.
April 28:Jonathan Karrant
Closing the season, award-winning song stylist Jonathan Karrant and his band bring warm, expressive vocals and sophisticated jazz to the stage. With recordings that have reached the Billboard and iTunes jazz charts, Karrant makes classic standards and contemporary songs unmistakably his own.
